Avocado and Honey Skin Glowing Smoothie

Happy Saturday.

If you are looking for a body boosting recipe that will kick start your weekend, you have come to the right place. I have got the skin of all skin-glowing smoothies to share with you today!

Just look at that creamy goodness. You can imagine slurping it through the screen, can’t you?!

This is a recipe I stumbled upon much by chance. It might sound like a rather strange but the addition of avocado to a smoothie is genius. I makes the smoothie super think and luscious, so more liquid is definitely needed. I tend to use some variety of milk, but coconut water is also a good option.

This recipe is a good mid-way point between the sweet all-fruit smoothies most people buy and the more green healthy ones. The avocado is a great source of vitamin E and healthy fats. If you like the idea of getting some veggie goodness in the morning, but can’t quite face the idea of kale or broccoli this is a sublime alternative. Essentially this recipe makes a good avocado smoothie base which you can build on. I’m not one to advocate you stick to a recipe completely. If you have blueberries, strawberries or cherries in the house, by all means chuck em into the mix. Equally play around with a little spicing, such as ground cardamom, or even a little grated lemongrass (sounds bizarre but it works) make the recipe you own. I like to include a little teaspoon of matcha (the fine green tea powder) for extra antioxidants and a caffine kick into mine.

Its great go to for busy mornings when I need the extra energy. For me, this creamy, smooth and luxuriously silky smoothie slips down far better then any coffee. Sorry Pret.
