This is the perfect sharing bread to make for parties. It is especially great with drinks, dips and nibbles. The bread can be prepped ahead and popped in the oven for when guests arrive.
If you fancy making the recipe vegan you can easily swap the cheddar and mozzarella for a dairy-free alternative.
Cheesy Tear and Share Garlic Bread Recipe
This recipe makes 1 loaf – serves 4/6
- 1 large loaf of bread
- 3 cloves garlic
- 100g mature cheddar, grated
- 100 g mozzarella
- 2 spring onions, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons flat leaf parsley
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- 100ml olive oil
- extras, to serve : leftover ham ham, houmous and dips, baked camembert, or mozzarella and tomato salsa
Preheat oven to 350F/180C.
Grate your garlic by hand. Tear parsley and with hands and discard stems. Chop the leaves finely
Add garlic, thyme and parsley to the olive oil and mix to combine.
Cut bread into criss cross pattern making sure to leave the base intact.
Line baking pan with foil. Put bread on top.
Spoon the oil into the nooks and crannies of the bread. Do the same with cheese and spring onion.
Cover with foil. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil from the top. Bake for another 5 minutes until crusty. Enjoy!
